(My) Thought of the Day

"A great marketer speaks with the voice of the customer."

Inspired by Jim's question at Daily Fix and the excellent discussion that resulted.

Exactly!! Great marketing strategy understands and is in tune with the mindset of the customer. The marketer is one with the customer.

What comes to mind is a scene from the recent Mel Gibson movie, What Women Want, where Mel's character is pitching the female executives from Nike. Everyone was in perfect harmony!

Yeah, great discussion, I agree. Thanks for link.

What's interesting is that we don't have a final "one thing" yet.

It's down to a few things, but not one thing.

Personally, I think it's a combo of creating value and branding.

And, of course, first of all a great marketer gets into the mind of the customer - then we can speak their language. Like Mr. Spock - a mind meld first!

Nice, simple definition: I like it, Mackeral.

p.s. to Jim: Great post, again.
