Since the inception of the Top 25, Marketing Shift and HorsePigCow have been running neck and neck at 5 and 6. But this week the 2 blogs broke in opposite directions, and now Marketing Shift looks like it might be poised to make a run at the Top 4, while HPC drops 2 notches to #8, and barely missed slipping to #9. Not a big deal, but it does go to show how competitive the Top 25 has become. Daily Fix leapfrogs to #7, and it will set up a close battle between DF and Coolz0r for the #6 spot next week.

Outside the Top 10, New School, EC, Brains on Fire, and MMM all had big weeks. And congrats to Studio UES for barely making the Top 25. By my count, that means 11 members of The Viral Community are now in the Top 25.

Next update is next Wednesday.

Very cool, we'll have to see how my misspelling of lonelygirl helps me next week :-) Watch out Joseph Jaffe, although with all his crazyness with Adam Curry he may well streak way ahead.

Cheers,

You bet your bottom dollar we're taking aim at Seth ;) Momemtum is in our favor right now and it's time to shift into 3rd gear... that's right, we're in a Turbo Diesel!

Hi Mack,

I've been following your blog for a while now - great stuff. I've got a proposed addition to the top 25 list - does blogs.forrester.com qualify? Most of the traffic can be attributed to Charlene Li's blog, but the Marketing team has a decent base as well. Currently at 9,301 this would put the domain at...#2???

Anyway, it's late - just a thought!

regards,
Pete

Hey Peter thanks for stopping by, I've been enjoying Being Peter Kim as well! Unfortunately, the 9,301 rank that Alexa reports is for Forrester.com, and since the blogs are part of the same domain, Alexa can't distinguish between traffic that goes to the main site, and traffic that's going to the blog. Marketing Profs had the same problem when Daily Fix was previously part of their main domain, and I had to disqualify Daily Fix for the same reason. When Daily Fix went to its own domain name, Alexa was able to accurately rank the seperate traffic for DF and Marketing Profs, and I've since been able to add DF to the Top 25.

That's a long way of saying that until Forrester's blogs are on their own seperate domain, Alexa can't track their traffic accurately, and I can't add them. If Forrester does give the blog a seperate domain name, please let me know and I'll be happy to track it!

Hi Mack--
Here comes a really dim bulb question:

You refer in your comments about the top 25 to ten members of the "Viral Community."

Who are members of the Viral Community?

Viral Community = Friends O' Mack :)

I think I'm in that category somewhere, but I don't qualify as a marketing blog. (I do marketing, but I'm mainly about the music and artists.)
