New post up at Daily Fix, and other cyber goodness

My latest post at Daily Fix is headlining, entitled 'Does the Best Marketing Go Unnoticed?'. The post talks about the excellent jobs Fiskars and Brains on Fire did in creating The Fiskateers, and how The Favorites created their online community of fans on MySpace. IMO, these are textbook examples of how to empower, and join your communities, respectively. Give it a read if you get a chance.

The Top 25 Marketing Blogs list for this week will be up sometime between now and this afternoon.

Also I'm going to call on The Viral Community today, if you have a minute, please use this link and add The Viral Garden to your Technorati Favorites. As you know, I'm not big on self-promotion, but if you make the Top 100, it does add some traffic to your blog, so if you haven't already, please add me to your favorites, and I'll happily do the same for your blog. In fact if you want, you can leave a comment saying you have added me to your list, and then I'll add you to mine. Thanks to Ann Ray, Chris, Bob, Rob and Ed for adding me to your lists, and I've already added each of you to mine. You need to have a free Technorati account to play (which you should have already anyway). With any luck we can lift The Viral Community up to take over the Top 100. Wouldn't THAT be something? ;)

Enjoyed the Marketing Profs article. Thanks for the insight and the kind words. I have to say. it's been very rewarding (and enlightening) to work on this project for Fiskars, who deserves a lot of the credit for opening up their doors and the lines of communication with their customers.

Mack I have added Viral Garden URL to my Technorati favorites.

Not sure how to use Technorati but I did put you there...

No problem Spike, I'm a big fan of what Brains on Fire, Fiskars, and The Favorites are doing, and wanted to bring that story to the Daily Fix audience. The more exposure we can get for smart marketing ideas such as this, the better the chance that we'll clue others into the possibility of 'communal marketing'.

And thanks for adding me Kim, I tried to add your blog and Technorati said it 'wasn't known' to them, have you claimed it yet? Also thanks to Chris and Swifty! And guys please let me know when you Favorite me, so I can make sure to Favorite you as well.

Thanks Ann, BTW Spike if there's anything you can add to the promotion, feel free to leave a comment on my post on Daily Fix. Like I said I think we need to get the word out about how such promotion come about and are executed, so if there was something that's happened recently, or anything I missed, feel free to pimp yourself ;)

Mack - my blog URL is:

http://kimklaverblogs.blogspot.com

Does that let you add it?

I've had lots of problems with Technorati. My site's URL was resubmitted so my old ranking disappeared and I had to start over. Now both URLs are showing up, one "last update 3 weeks ago" and the other "last update 1 hour ago" the latter being the correct one, of course.

Hi Mack,

I have just added your site as a favorite. It is already one of the feeds I regularly read, so I hope it can help your Technoraty ranking. You can add mine in return, but no obligation of course :)

Dear Mack, AKA keeper of the Top 25. Where the F#*k is the list??

Used to be that you could count on some things. The sun rising, Seth keeping his comments turned off, Ann Handley discovering the newest, hottest blogger and Mack's Top 25!

Please, please update the list. I've had six cups of coffee and it's not helping...

Oh yeah, I'll be sure to start a Technorati Favorites and add you to it.

:)

Hehe, your welcome, Mack. Thanks to you, I've just been inspired to start this meme called The Technorati Domination Movement! It's going to be fun.

Hey Mack - I've added you to my favorites.

You're the first one - but I've been seeing "add to technorati favorites" appearing more and more often lately on blogs. Is it becoming a more popular way for people to collect/read their blogs of interest?

PS. I've got two blogs you might enjoy -- the first is listed as my web page (http://www.igotnewsforyou.com/blog), and the second is http://www.whereisbasil.com.

Thanks!
