What comes to mind is a scene from the recent Mel Gibson movie, What Women Want, where Mel's character is pitching the female executives from Nike. Everyone was in perfect harmony!
And, of course, first of all a great marketer gets into the mind of the customer - then we can speak their language. Like Mr. Spock - a mind meld first!

What's interesting is that we don't have a final "one thing" yet.
It's down to a few things, but not one thing.
Personally, I think it's a combo of creating value and branding.
